The
economy, loans, jobs and in general future security
are issues that are not centered solely around those
who have completed their formal education. The challenge
of dealing with the downturn of the economy has made
these issues a concern in the minds of more and more
young people creating stresses and worry that had traditionally
been left to after graduation. Now perhaps more than
ever the struggle to address financial concerns is a
relevant and very persistent thought on the minds of
many young people.
How will we afford school?
Will I be able to participate in school related activities?
Should I get a job to help with the costs?
Will anyone hire me?
All
are question that many young people are forced to address
as they become more burdened by the news of layoffs,
the rise of gas prices, the cost of education and increases
in so many aspects of daily life. Young people are forced
to juggle, sacrifice, and be aware of, along with their
parents, the desire to participate in the life they
had envisioned that usually comes with a steep price
tag.
Generation
Gab is a blog dedicated to allowing young people to
share their thoughts, experiences, concerns and hopes
for themselves and the impact of the economy and businesses
on their ability to actualize their dreams. A dynamic
and varied group of writers contribute to this blog
bringing different backgrounds, experiences, talents
and dreams to discuss the concerns on so many's minds.
